HOW TO MAKE NATURAL TOOTHPASTE WITH COCONUT OIL?


Coconut oil has become very popular recently, as most of you know already. Thanks to its beneficial properties it can be successfully used not only in the kitchen, but also as a natural cosmetic and a product for complex hair and body care. Its composition is primarily saturated fatty acids, which help to thoroughly moisturize the dried skin, and they are antimicrobial and anti-viral. Coconut oil can replace not only body cream, make-up remover or hair nourishing mask, but ... toothpaste!

Lauric acid contained in the oil is characterized by strong antimicrobial and fungicidal action. It inhibits the sarcoma of harmful bacteria that cause cavities and mouth infections. It not only fights with viruses but also has whitening properties. The paste we will make today is based on this oil.

What are the main advantages of such paste?

Coconut oil based paste is natural, organic, vegan, whitening and soothing. In addition, it prevents infections and has antibacterial properties.

What we need:

1) Base

Our BASE will of course be coconut oil, the best it is unrefined and cold pressed.

2) Abrasive component

Soda or activated carbon (in combination with the oil will be safe for the enamel to remove plaque from the teeth)

3) Xylitol

Reduces pH in the mouth, prevents caries

4) Essential oils for better taste

To make the paste have a naturally pleasant taste and aroma we can add essential oil. Let's remember that it should be natural and with no contraindications for oral use, the choice is wide, but the best are: mint, eucalyptus, tea, cinnamon, camomile.

Recipe:

There are many recipes that you can easily find on the internet. Today I have two options for you:

1 recipe:

- 4-5 teaspoons of coconut oil

- 2 teaspoons of baking soda

- 3 teaspoons of powdered xylitol

- a few drops of essential oils

2 recipe:

- 2 tablespoons of coconut oil

- 6 teaspoons of baking soda

- 1 teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide

- a few drops of essential oils

Ingredients should be combined with each other in a dish that isn't metal. Keep it in a tightly closed container in a dark place.
